F.A.C.T.S. (FOUNDATIONS ARE CRITICAL TO SUCCESS)

WHO NEEDS TO COMPLETE THE FACTS PORTFOLIO REVIEW?

Any student who is participating in the option leading to a BFA (Graphic Design or Studio Arts) or to a BA in Liberal Arts Studio or Art Education must pass the FACTS Portfolio Review (Spring or Summer) before entering the 200 level or above studio classes in the School of Art. Any student who is participating in the option leading to a BA in Art history is exempt as is both a minor in Art History and a minor in Art Education (K-12).

Transfer Students must try to match the School of Art FACTS Portfolio Requirements as closely as possible, or substitute work exhibiting similar outcomes. If the transfer portfolio is judged to be unacceptable by the FACTS Evaluation committee, the transfer student will be required to successfully complete the School of Art’s FACTS curriculum and Portfolio Review. The FACTS Evaluation committee reserves the right to request that any transfer student, MSU student or former student successfully complete part or all of the MSU FACTS curricula before being permitted to apply again.
